Dev here too, if your going to keep your workspace so clean buy a mac mini server but install regular lion os x. That way you can keep your mad arrangement of displays!
Ben, thanks for the suggestion of the mac mini server. Gotta admit I never thought of those but it would be the best solution for sure!
